Top     For philosophers     For politicians     For scientists    For you

In order to survive, animals use all kinds of technical tools fixed on their bodies like furs and feathers, claws and hoofs, pincers and wings, shells and sometimes even whole houses. And when animals are naked, they often use chemical or electro-magnetic techniques like poison, shocks or mimicry. They need these techniques in order to survive.

But humans are pure naked existence, and that is because we have our mind. With that we see a coat in a fur, a weapon in a stick, an airplane in a bird, a plank and therefore a house in a tree, chemistry and electronics in Electra et cetera. We do not need techniques fixed on our body, because we can invent these techniques ourselves.

Our nakedness then even becomes our strength, because only naked you fit in everything, in a diving-suit, a space-suit, a polar-suit, in a hang-glider et cetera. Just imagine you have a fixed fur, or wings on your arms! You do not want that.

Because of our nakedness combined with our mind, we also are free, the only free birds in nature. Animals actually are culture, culture of nature. The bird, that is a flying-machine, with the naked existence imprisoned.

We however are pure nature and have our culture, clothes for all kinds of circumstances, vehicles for on land, on water and in the air. We are free to survive everywhere.

With our mind we see that forms fit to other forms, the tree on water as boat, the covering fur as coat, the rolling tree as wheel et cetera. Animals only see the things, the human also sees the working of things.
And when the forms fit well (shoe on foot, food on tongue, music in ear), then we call it good, beautiful, healthy, nice. Then we speak of quality.

And no animal is able to enjoy quality more than a human does. A heron swallows his fish in one bite, but we then first start to cook, to make it more tasty. And we do that with everything, clothes, chairs, beds, sounds, sex as well.

male-eros-female trinity.

And that enjoying too, is caused by our mind. We see forms that fit, and we also see perfection in that fitting, and then we enjoy.
And this enjoyment always is bodily, a caressing of the senses, also when it concerns classical music or elevated literature. Our mind is a sense-organ. With our ordinary sense-organs we see, hear, feel, taste and smell the forms, with our mind we see the fitting of forms, the workings playing there.

And when forms fit well (foot in shoe, shoe on road) then we also speak of truth, a truthful shoe. When we enjoy, we often enjoy truth. Truth (well fitting) is nice.

So a human is pure biology and is enjoying this biology. And our whole economy therefore is busy with making nice and enjoyable things.

And why then is it, that there is the human?
Suppose God created all this harmony in nature. Then of course a being like a human also is necessary, to enjoy this harmony. Otherwise art has no use.

FOR PHILOSOPHERS:
If our mind can be understood the way we understand our eyes and ears, then there no longer is a body-mind problem. Click on 2 at the right: 'The essence of Fabc'.
This essence is:
1. Reality consist of material forms and immaterial workings. These workings like the screwing between bolt and nut, the pumping between heart and blood or the seeing between eyes and light, are no things but nevertheless are immaterial physical facts.
2. When we talk of spirit or idea, the vital spirit or the idea of bolt and nut, then we always have these immaterial workings in mind.
3. Our human mind can be understood the way we understand our eyes or ears, so as a natural instrument. With our ordinary sense-organs we see, hear, smell, taste and feel the forms, with our mind we also see the workings. We see forms that fit then like the nut fitting on the bolt or the shoe fitting on the foot. So understanding is a kind of seeing, an insight. With our mind we see the Spirit of Nature.

Maybe the philosophical body-mind problem is a question of wishful thinking? Maybe Plato wanted to feel elevated above the animal? It is our mind then, that must be elevated. And then you have to invent a super-nature with something like spirit in it.
But ideas live right in the middle of nature, in the emptiness between the forms, in the fitting together of forms, in the workings playing there, including Eros and Electra. There we also see the mathematical and physical relations and laws.
Enjoy it! Learn to understand! You do not need to know anything to understand for example a bike. And what is true for the bike, is true for everything. Just look and see how forms fit to other forms. That is all there is.

FOR POLITICIANS:
The human remains a special and unique creature in this Relational view, the only animal that is seeing the Spirit of nature. But we are not elevated above other animals, but on the contrary are much more biological than any other animal. For us every sense impression can have this extra dimension of harmony (nice fitting), beauty, joy. That is also where Truth is living. When things fit well, then there is truth.
And whether you see the human as elevated above nature, or as the naked kernel of all other (big) animals, that will make a difference, in societies, in the political choices people make. Where are we living for? To grow economically? To regulate every step we take?
Come on people: Vote Relational!
What would it mean then, a relational course in politics? First of all, we have to see (again) that economy is only a mean, and not the end of life. Economy can be defined as "all activities we deploy to provide ourselves with the means of existence". And we now have made ourselves slaves of economy; economic regulations dictate a great part of our life, also at home and on holidays. And according to me, nobody is really happy with that.
Why then are we doing it? That is how change starts. With Willing, with courage as well.

FOR SCIENTISTS:
We also must have a better eye for the difference between knowledge and understanding. Knowing facts can be handy. But understanding has nothing to do with knowledge. Just by good looking, a human can understand the shoe, the seat or the bike completely. Maybe too much knowledge even disturbs understanding. I do not know many facts.
Reality consist of forms and workings (fitting of forms), and we now teach our children much knowledge about the forms but little insight in the workings. Look at our economists. Nobody of them foresaw this (2009) economic crisis, while economy is made by men. I mean, every thing made by men, a city, a society, economy, can be understood. Our economists clearly do not understand much of economy, with all their knowledge.
Just look and try to see. Without words.

FOR YOU:
I think you are waiting. For the experts. For the politicians. But they are waiting too.
It must start with courage now, with Willing.
And then remember that reality is very simple: just forms that fit to other forms. And when something then goes wrong, in a machine or in a society, then forms do not fit well.
